So why “i speak with images?”

I have always been that kind of person growing up and in later adulthood, who would learn from observing rather than reading. In briefings I found comfort in drawings and diagrams to explain a point and accepted this as something that was a natural course for me.

After toying with a name to promote my photography I happened to fall upon an interview held in 1993 between Charlie Rose (journalist and talk show host) and Richard Avedon, where Rose drew attention to the fact that, although large in size, Avedons autobiography had very few words. Avedon replied that as a photographer “i speak with images”. That one sentence resonated with me so much I knew it was to be my handle for instagram and my website.

Sometimes we try so hard to look for a solution then one day out of the blue something just resonates with you and makes sense of things. For me this was one such moment.
