Extinction Rebellion Penitents
On the morning of Tuesday 30th November 2021, the Climate and Ecological Group Cornwall held a climate change protest at the Truro council offices. The event was attended by numerous groups including, the Extinction Rebellion Penitents.
The Penitents are based on a medieval idea of atonement for transgressions against community. The Penitents carry the crimes of the contemporary world throughout their own.
Penitents are downcast and never speak, movements are slow. Hands by sides, palms facing forward, fingers towards the earth.
